Hello!

I will be flying in and out of Helsinki this August. On my way back home I would like to spend some time in the city.

Should I stay 1 or 2 days there? While I'm there, what would you recommend I see?

Two days is good for first time. You'll find plenty of tips on what to visit on VT Helsinki pages!

I've been to Helsinki twice, but only for about 7 hours each time and I visited Merimaailma Sea Life Aquarium and strolled around the city the first time. On the same place where the aquarium is, there's an amusement park.

The second time I went to Vantaa and visited Eureka Science museum.

I think 2 days is ok. If the weather is good, just take it easy and go for a walk in a big park in the centre called Esplanadi Park. It's not far from the market place.

From there you could walk towards the road called Mannerheimintie and go and see the Senate Square (Senaatintori) and the buildings around it. The university buildings have a cafeteria where you could enjoya cup of coffee and maybe have something to eat. (They won't kick you out..)

Thanks for your help. I was a bit busy with exams recently, so I didn't have time to really do a search about the city. Thanks for helping me out. I'll stay for 2 days and a morning :)

2 Days is ideal. Was there the 1st time late June, from Tue am to Fri evening. I think I covered most of the city, even went to the Zoo, wanting to see the snow leopard, but it was too hot, the poor car was almost nowhere in sight!

What to see? Well, plenty of tips on Helsinki page, you can do them some honours by reading them.
