It's been a pretty good mix of sun, clouds and rain. Rain was the least of the three.

The reports have bounced around. Most have been reporting/predicting scattered thundershowers, which we have had.

Although it happens I rarely ever have a day where it rains continually all the time in Bangkok. Just pick up a cheap umbrella and go on out. Many street vendors and small shops are covered with awnings. Just don't wear any good footwear that will get destroyed. Most of the curbs are high enough to keep you out of serious puddles. Bars, stores, restaurants are open as usual. If you get caught in a heavy rain just stop in a mall, eat in a restaurant or hit a bar for a while.

Pattaya Beach is only 2 hours away, when it rains there the rain usually stops in an hour or two and then the sunshine comes back out.

Choose Sukhumvit Road (low number end) or the Siam area for your hotel so you can use the Skytrain. The Skytrain is an overhead rail service connecting many popular areas of Bangkok.

I was worried too after reading the horrible weather forecast before leaving London. Been here for 4 days since 14th June and only rained once on first day for about half an hour (bucketed down around 5pm). Since then it's been hot hot hot - so don't worry at all! Bring an umbrella but doubt you need it as you can always take shelter in a shop/restaurant for the short time that it rains!

The rain in Thailand is the same kind we get in Florida, just liquid sunshine. As previously advised, bring an umbrella and don't let the rain get you down.
