7 Day Travel card - where can we get them

Hi all

off to Budapest on Thursday (18 June 09) and we will possible get one of the 7day travel cards (or if not prob the 3 day)

2 questions:

1) can we get them at the airport or if not where is the nearest fo the Marriott hotel we can get them

2) am I right in thinking neither of these have to be validated in the way single tickets do ?

Yep there's a desk at the airport in the arrivals hall where you can get them and yep you need to validate them on first usage. The 7 day pass is more economical than the 3 day one (HUF 4,400 against 3,700). All the info is on the website - www.bkv.hu which has an English option.

and failing that the vorosmarty square subway station is just a block in from the river from your hotel.

Hi,

I don't think that you have to validate it. It's a piece of paper. On the 3 days card the valid from date is written. It is valid from that day till 3 days.
On the 7 days card beside the date your name is written. It's also valid from that day. There is no need further validation.

thanks I thought I'd read somewhere that was the case but wasn't sure.

I have already booked our taxi with taxi4 - booked by email and they have quoted a fixed price of 4300 ft they seemed very professional and helpful

You can get it either at the airport or at Deak Ferenc ter metro station.
No travelcards are sold at Vorosmarty ter although!
