Any suggestions for:_1.Good pizza restaurant(s) and 2. Good sports bar(s)? I'm staying near Union sq but that isn't a prerequisite- happy to go wherever.

Lefty O'Douls is a good Sports Bar, a bit old, great food. Some consider it a bit of a throw back. Thats why I like it

if you want a pizza place where locals go, go to Pizzeria Delfina on California at Fillmore or Pizza Orgasmica also on Fillmore (3157 Fillmore). It's the closest non touristy place that I can think of.
