transfer in Gatwick

Hi
im flying from Madrid and transfer in Gatwick to Dubai
Do i have to clear inmigration and customs or can i stay in the "sterile" area?
how long would it take me to transfer if i have to change terminals?

you stay in the TRANSIT area and do not have to get out of that area.
I just went through Gatwick, you do however, have to go through security again, even when coming from the other flight and going directly into the "transfer/connections" area. It took about 35 minutes to go through that one, it was early in the morning

If your baggage is being checked through to Dubai then you will not have to go through immigration and customs, and will stay within the transit area.

If your baggage is not checked through then you will have to pass through immigration and customs.

will give you all the informtion you need. Click on 'connectiong at Gatwick' on the left-hand menu.

There is a free 'Flight Connections' bus for those who need to change terminal.
