Re: directions by metro from Baragas airport to Plaza Espanya Posted: Mon June 15, 2009 10:45 PM UTC
I have done that trip - very easy with one change. You can use http://www.metromadrid.es/es/index.html to track your itinerary, what's most important, however, is to be *extremely* careful with pickpockets when you change cars. I have been there several times and someone has tried to go thru my backpack when someone from the outside screamed and said "le estan robando" - (they're robbing you).
Odd part is that the train took off, w/the pick pocket on board and I could not figure out who of the people near me it was. Good part is that I carry all my valuables under my clothing and other than opening both backpack zippers they got nothing.
Don't let this derail you - I am a woman traveling alone and *always* take the metro. The Tryp Memfis, if you get out from the correct side of the station, is less than half a block away - extremely convenient.
Additionally, there's a large Metro office upstairs in the airport, right before you go down to the platform where the cars are. They will give you a map and confirm the way to go, so no worries even if you lose your notes there's easy help in the metro part of the airport.
Ah, what a long post for such a simple answer ...
