Mozambique Flights from JoBurg to Inhambane
Posted: Mon June 15, 2009 12:30 AM UTC
Hey All!

I will be in Johannesburg on the 25th of July. I wanted to catch a flight to Inhambane. Is this something that I need to book well in advance? Or is it something I can do in JoBurg a few days before travel. So far all I can find is LAM flights for about $500 US. Very expensive! Any other options out there.

Also, I would appreciate any info on where to stay in Tofo. Something on the beach in the middle of everything (under $100 US per night)

Thanks!

Hey
There are four flights a week in and out of Inhambane directly from Johannesburg (O R Thambo). Depending on airport taxes, the return flight prices will be in the order of U$400-500. You will be going there in the low season so booking should not pose a problem. However it is still best to book in advance (now).
The only other option is renting a vehicle and driving there, but its time consuming. The yrip can be done in one day of hard driving but this is not recommended.... preferably two days.

Accommodation at Tofo... Fatima's nest is the best option and you can stay there around US$30-45 per day. It is very central and the dive operators are close by.
