I'm arriving at frankfurt hahn at 11 pm with my 17 year old daughter with onward travel to nuremburg. Are there suitable hotels near the airport for an overnight stay and what is the most economical way to get to nuremburg the following morning

To get to Nürnberg the next morning it's best to take the bus to Frankfurt/Main train station.Then from there a through train to Nürnberg.If you book early enough, you can get tickets from 29 Euro one way. The bus will be 12 Euro a person.

Shuttle bus to Hanau is cheaper and Hanau is a tad closer to Nuremberg.

1. Hanau to Kahl (the first stop in Bavaria)
EUR 3,70 per person
2. Bavaria Ticket
Covers the route from Kahl to Nuremberg.
EUR 28,00 for 2-5 persons traveling together
This ticket is valid till 3am next day and covers also all local public transport in Nuremberg (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses).

You can buy both tickets from ticket machines at Hanau station.
You don't have to do anything in Kahl, just stay seated.

With the tickets there are a few issues:
1. Bavaria Ticket Nuremberg to Kahl
Bavaria Ticket is only valid on weekdays past 9am.
2. RMV Ticket Kahl to Hanau
You can of course buy this ticket at Kahl station. But this means a stopover of 1 hour there. You cannot buy this ticket at Nuremberg station but you can ask there what your alternatives are.

Another option is to buy discounted specials from Nuremberg to Hanau or Franfkurt in advance through the DB timetable. They start from EUR 29,00 per person.
