Sorry no trains yet to Jerusalem. If you are landing during the day time hours you can take the train to Tel Aviv and then a bus.

But the best is to use the Sherut. These are group taxis called Nesher Sherut (sher-oot).

You will see a sign for taxis as you leave the Arrivals hall. Go in that direction and say to everyone standing around "Yerusha-layim, sherut" They will point the way.

They are large yellow vans that hold 10 - 12 people. You have to wait until it fills up, but they deliver to the door of your hotel. If you are lucky you will be one of the first off, if not you will get a tour of Jerusalem :)

The trip can take anywhere from 1/2 an hour (if you are first) to 60 or 70 minutes if not.

Not absolutely sure of the price right now, but I think it is in the range of NIS50 - 55 per person. A private taxi will cost US $60 - 70 for the same trip.

Welcome and have fun!

I am 95% sure that Nesher is 50NIS per person. ( and the exchange rate is around 3.9 NIS to the dollar! You can change money in the airport--not the BEST rate, so don't change too much! Also, be aware that after your trip you can call Nesher--best one or two days in advance and reserve a spot for the return trip. So, ask the Nesher driver for their phone number.

Nesher is definitely the way to go. It would be a good idea to have the address of the hotel with you as it is a small one and the driver may not be familiar with it.

Hi, I've just come back from Jerusalem and we used the Nesher shuttle to get from the airport to our hotel. Out of arrivals at Ben Gurion, turn right and you'll see the mini buses. There'll be a guy in charge of the filling of the buses and he'll ask you if you want Jerusalem and which hotel. All the bags get chucked in the back and the shuttle goes when it's full. The cost, door to door is 50 NIS, a bargain for an air-conditioned trip of up to an hour depending on when you get dropped off. Our hotel ordered the shuttle for our return trip to the airport at no extra cost. Have a great trip.
