Hi, I am planning my next trip and need some advice about Egipt. Do you think it is safe for a woman who travel alone. Any advice? thanks a lot for your help!

My daughter wemt at least 4 times to visit an old school friend, who not only lived alone but worked in Cairo.Many times, whilst her friend was at work my daughter did all the Cairo sight-seeing alone, flew to Luxor for a couple of days where she stayed in hotels alone. She is blonde and pretty so not unaccustomed to unwanted male attentions - but all she had to do was to say Leave me alone. Genuine offers of assistance were plenty and she found great friendliness from the majority of people she met.
Just remember the dress code, be discreet and firm and you should be fine.

Well, I have seen young European women travel completely alone, like on my train ride to Luxor.
It is okay, as long as you are smart and stay safe. Don't be too conspicuous or be too friendly to just anyone you know what I mean? Use your street smarts and common sense. If you need to walk around at night then go with someone you trust or be in very busy areas.
