hi

we have booked a hotel south off the airport and we are told it is a 10 minute walk from the airport. I have looked on the map and the only major road we have to cross is the D119 Route de Montreal can anyone tell me if there are any subways or crossings on this road or do we have to run haha. Also is it possible to get a bus from this area into town.

By motorway of the Two A61 Seas:
(800m) To take the exit N°23 "Carcassonne Western ZI - Limoux - Mazamet", to take N161 Toulouse Mazamet direction, then the first exit.

Since the airport of Salvaza: (1.5km) To take D119 on 300m then N161 direction A61 to take the Boulevard Denis Papin on the left then first.

Whil coming from Toulouse or Mazamet to follow the direction A61 motorway and to leave in the shopping center Giant Salvaza Casino, to turn around the rod-point and to pass under the bridge and 1st on the left.

we are staying at ETAP HOTEL Carcassonne Salvaza and were told it was 10 minutes from the airport. We havnt got a car so it is either walk or get taxi i think.

Do you also know if there is a bus service from this area to town.

yes it is about 10 mins walk or 1,3 km easily walkable unless you are having big luggage. you get out of hotel right on a Cultura store,to rondpoint,bear left to to second rondpoint,bearing left get on rocade or beltway road that goes to airport at 1 km, you probably need about 300 meters to get out of hotel to main road.

I have tried babelfish but cannot read properly, can you translate for me is the hotel anywhere near rue chaptal.

well they gave you the route info as you wre driving, but its similar walking. you take direction A61 is the rocade or main road from the airport to hotel,then you would see a store call cuisinella (kitchen stuff) inside a business park call La Ferraudiére. rue chaptal is the street where the hotel is in the park.

if you follow my direction you will get there walking IF your luggage is light, otherwise hire a taxi, maybe 5 euros there.
