We are looking for a cheap but clean hotel or pension in the centre of Berlin. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks in advance. Elly

I usually park myself in the Etap hotel in Anhalterstrasse close to Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie and within walking distance from Friedrichstrasse and Unter den Linden. A metro station (Anhalter Strasse) is 200 m away and Potsdamer Platz is a major hub for trains.
The rooms are clean, small with a toilet and sink and shower in the room. The bed is a French size double, but it has an additional bunk bed above this bed, as the rooms are designed to accomodate up to three people.
The cost per room is 55 Euro and breakfast is additional and optional, google Etap hotel Anhalterstrasse.

The hotel has parking facilities which it shares with its neighbouring sister hotel Ibis, but if you are up to a short walk and I remember correctly a little further down the street, toward the Anhalter Strasse metro stop, parking is allowed along the street. You can park and unload in front of the hotel, but I am not sure about longer term parking.
