Difficulty of obtaining a Korean visa for Chinese national?

Hi guys,

I read one comment somewhere that getting a korean visa for a chinese national (residing in the UK) is as difficult as'getting a 3rd world national a US visa' which doesnt really inspire me with confidence"!!

Want to go to Seoul and Jeju island with my sister in law but she has Chinese citizenship (married to my bro who is British citizen) - can anyone advise on how difficult it is for her to obtain a visa? is the process long and arduous?
