we bought a phone card ( look for stores with an orange sign ) that allowed us to use pay phones for pennies a minute. somewhat inconvenient in that one has to punch in about twentyfive numbers, but other than that very economic. your hotel will hopefully tell you the nearest place, but we saw stores selling them at multiple sites near the old town square and bought ours on Rybna Street about a ten minute walk away and near several hotels.

cell phone options were all considerably more money.
