Depending where you are seated, you may be asked not to take photos in the performance, even if you don't use a flash. In the front row of the parterre, someone suddenly raising their arms to take a picture may startle one of the younger horses! The photos you get won't be great anyway (especially my favourite big brown stallion comes out terrible in pictures - you can't see his face at all) so better to get some postcards and things from the shop and in the show just concentrate on seeing the lovely horses ...
Do check the performance time on your tickets because usually the performance begin at 11am in the morning rather than 12 noon (except for occasional Friday evening shows at 7pm). Training sessions start at 10am.
There's no dresscode for the School, but no matter how hot a day it is, it can be quite cool in the riding hall so it's worth taking a jacket or similar in case you feel cold. It's not been too hot in Vienna of late, though perhaps by the time you go it will be warm again.
