Seoul Appartment for rent in Seoul
Posted: Tue June 9, 2009 09:00 AM UTC
Me and a friend are doing a 4month internship in Seoul from February through May of 2010. We want to get started on getting an idea of the price range if we want to rent an appartment, can anyone help us?
So far, all we have found are prices from $1300 and up. As this is too much, we hope to get help from you.
I have tried to find an expat newspaper, but the one I found didn't have any appartment listings in it.

Hope to hear from you!

Thank you,

Marianne

You don't say which part of Seoul you will be doing your internship, but an apartment is Seoul is very expensive. In fact the price you quoted is the low range for a furnished place. There may be some cheaper, but you would still need ot get furniture and the like. Since you are doing a relatively short term stay, you may want to consider a boarding house...or "hasukjip" as they are called in Korean. you would each get your own room with cable TV, free internet, 2 meals a day and in some cases even your laundry done for you. They are mostly found near the college campuses and a relatively cheap depending on accommodations. The prices can range from $300 a month all the way up to $700 a month. Here are a couple of links to help you with your search:

Thank you so much for your response! The links are most helpful. Boarding house is definitely what we are looking at now.
When departure time is getting just a little bit closer, we'll probably be more into what parts of town and all of that.

Thanks again!
