Lucerne to Strasbourg

What is my best option to visit Strasbourg from Lucerne. We are staying in Lucerne and will have a car but is the train the best option to get to Strasbourg due to parking, time, etc?

its an old question, I am a car aficionado and use extensively in Europe. Most visitors do not know why prefer the trains/buses....
if you park in a car garage, you will have easy parking,safe,central,and you will see more ! see the distance schedules here

and park at the train station parking or Pl Hans jean Arp just by the barrage Vauban near Petite France area.
