Re: River Mandovi cruise Posted: Wed June 10, 2009 05:58 AM UTC
the cruises operate round the year, just that they will hold off when it rain's, but there are some cruises which have a lower deck and the rain wouldnt matter. Just land up at the Mandovi river cruises, there are atleast 6-10 cruise operators, they rates vary between Rs100/ to Rs500/ per head depending on the duration and with or without food & beverage. There are also half day cruises which take you around and cost around Rs750/ per head and also they have the moonlight cruise for few hours with dinner served @Rs850/ range per head.
Like someone else suggested visit the Bom Jesus Basilica(St.Francis Xaveir's) and the Forts in North Goa(Aguada & Chappora), they are really the places to see.
Also the drinks(esp fenny) and food are to be enjoyed during the trip, some places to feast on food :
Martins Corner at Betalbatim(South Goa)
Britto's at Baga Beach(North Goa)
Souza Lobo at Calangute(North Goa, 5 mins drive from Britto's)
St.Anthony's beside Britto's
You must spend few hours at Palolem Beach(on the way you could check out Cabo De Rama), which is in the tip of south Goa, try being there by 5pm and try dinner at Magik Italy(its owned by an Italian couple, so you get authentic Italian food)
