Hello,

I am planning to travel to Estonia and the other two baltics this summer for one month. I just heardd that the costs got fastly rised after EU membership there.

Could you please write me some sample costs in Estonia in Euros please?

A cheap meal in a cafe
A good meal in a restaurant but not luxury one
A local beer in a bar
A vodka in a bar or club
A cheap but okay single room in a guesthouse or pension
A small apt to rent
Enterance to a museum
A botle of water in market
A bus drive for 5 or 6 hours

A good meal in a restaurant but not luxury one - 10-25 €
A local beer in a bar - 2,5-3 €
A vodka in a bar or club - 2-3 €
A cheap but okay single room in a guesthouse or pension - 40-50 €
A small apt to rent - depending on location and condition of course, but around 200-300 € a month
Entrance to a museum - 3-5 €
A bottle of water in market - less than 1 €
A bus ride for 5 or 6 hours - 20 €

Tallinn is more expensive.

For example in town of Johvi you can eat for 70-90 EEK in good cafes/restairants. Beer 0,5L in the pub 30 eek - good local beer Mόnchen (produced in Sillamae). Hotel 300-500 eek in Johvi, the same prices in Toila sea resort.

Some items are same like in my city, some more expensive than here, especially pensions and beer :) It is good to know about the general costs before travelling.

Of course I want to see the capital but I am also interested in nontouristy small towns to see the real and ordinary life, walking at the streets hours, see historical places and hang out in the bars at night to talk to locals.

I am very open to any recommendations from you, I will appreciate.

So I recomend town of Johvi and surroundings. Town has developed progressively last years, it is a capital town of region. You can visit here old gothic church and museum, old orthodox church, see lots of soviet architecture etc. Town is pretty modern and interesting. In surroundings visit Toila sea resort, waterfall Valaste.
