So, I've searched most of the restaurants on the web, but haven't been able to find so of the stuff I am looking for.

Halasz leves, hungarian chicken liver with onions and breaded calf brains, tripe among others. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I've just made for dinner a "Harcsapaprikas with túroscsusza".
Harcsa is catfish,
paprikas or called porkolt is stew(it's tipical hungarian food. It can be made with chichekn, beef, pig. It's a food making type. Based on onion oil some paprika)powder and real one) with tomatoe.
Turoscsusza is a special hungarian dish. It's based on a normal boiled pasta. Mixed with curd cheese. Put it to an oven pan and throw some roasted baken on the top. Put this oven pan to the oven for 10-15 minutes.

I've made some photo, I'm sending you in mail.

Budapestian, Tamás

Your question is not very clear!

Are you looking for a good restaurant in Hungary(in Budapest?)that serves these specialities?

These 3 restaurants excel in traditional Hungarian cuisine:

Bock Bisztró (Budapest) www.bockbisztro.hu

Öreg Tanyacsárda (Lajosmizse) www.tanyacsarda.hu

Kistücsök (Balatonszemes) www.kistucsok.hu

Bon appetit!

Excuse for my poor Hungarian language, boys from Hungary. I did not eat enough hungarian meal for learning Hungarian better :-)
I left Hungarian area in my country in my 3 and then I went to my grandparents only during vacations.

Hi Kata,

There is nothing wrong with your hungarian. People from countryside speaks hungarian with different pronounciations.
So "perkelt" is understandable for me:-)Your hungarian is perfect:-)

I know it's not too helpful, but it might make you feel sort of secure: these dishes are a MUST on the menu of any restaurant serving Hungarian food. Otherwise we're not talking about a Hungarian restaurant but something else: maybe international cuisine or else.

I can recommend you these suburban restaurants, some 30-40 minutes from the city center:
Kakas Etterem - www.kakas.hu (take metro M3 to its terminal Kobanya-Kispest and then buses 182 184 to stop Tinodi utca, then walk back one block and turn left)
Laszlo Tanya Etterem - laszlotanya.fw.hu (from M3 Kobanya-Kispest by buses 182 184 282E 284E to stop Jokai Mor utca, walk back one block to locate restaurant)
Zila Kavehaz - www.zilakavehaz.hu (from M3 Kobanya-Kispest by buses 93 182 184 193E 282E 284E or from M3 Hatar utca by tram 50 to stop Szarvas csarda ter; from buses, walk to the main street with tram tracks and walk to the left)
