Marrakesh Transportation to Marrakech

Hi guys,
first trip to Morroco. What is the best way to go from Casablanca to Marrakech? I like to avoid flying if possible. Are there train lines? Do you think it is a good idea to rent a car and do the drive myself? I never been.
Thank u very much

If cost is not a problem then I would suggest you rent a car, that gives freedom to go wherever you want and to see many more places that a bus & train does not do.

There are about 7 CTM buses going to Marrakesh every day only 4 hours away about 90 dirhams. plenty of bus compaines go to Marrakesh.

Train trip to Marrakesh is 3 hours, about 80 dirhams for the trip but pay a little extra and go 1st class much more comfortable and still very cheap.

have a nice trip

If you got a car you can decide on scenic routes and see things on the way - such as down the coast to El Jadida, Oualidia, Safi and even Essaouira - or inland via Cascade Douzoud.
Ive always driving in Morocco and there are many stunning/photogenic places to enjoy being independent by car rather stuck in public transport. Buses are not bad - but the train between Marrakech and Casablanca there was pretty much nothing to be able to see.

Have a look at travel pages in the various Travel guides made by VTers here on VT for ideas and inspiration.
