I dont drive and I dont want to figure transportation options, so I will do a tour. But question is, should I do a 1 day or a 2 day tour to this legendary site?

In my student days (a looooonnggg time ago...) I went there with a friend and, although on a budget, we decided to take the 2-day tour.

Never regretted that decision.

A little detail: Of course with some bargaining: paying for 1 day and searching ourselves for a hotel/hostel...But I think they felt sorry for us, and it was low-season so they agreed...

Depends where you are starting from! On my visit I tried to do it as a day trip from Athens but really I should have made it a 2 day trip with an overnight stop to fully appeciate Delphi as a town.

We also went from Athens.

Make it two days then as it the journey each-way from Athens will take about 3 hours. Personally I reckon you need 1/2 day for the site itself and another a couple of hours for the museum. Then add a meal or two, and a beer or two (since you will be seriously dehydrated after climbing up and down the hill ;)). Take the two day option!

Agree. I took the 1-day tour from Athens and was disappointed not to be able to see more. Just took in the hill and the site - that's it. Never got to see the museum or the town or enjoy the scenery around.

You could spend two days in Delphi; visit the ancient ruins, the museum and then head to Arahova. This is a beautiful village on the mountains near Delphi.

I did it as a 3 days/2 nights tour by local bus. You need your time to see the sites and museum. maria
