Can I get a visa at the border for a 2 day visit? Do I need passport photos or anything special? Or do I have to get the visa in advance? The embassy website is amazingly unhelpful.

It appears that you would need the $80, 3 year visa if you're planning to spend the night in Zambia, and it looks like they will issue you it at the border. I don't see anything about passport photos; my guess is that when they issue the visa at the border, they want to see and stamp your passport and not worry about a photo on a visa application (because you will have come and gone before any bureaucrat ever sees it).

The US site does suggest that the $80USD be in exact change, however...
