Singapore Itinerary for 3D2N in Singpore
Posted: Tue June 2, 2009 09:28 PM UTC
Hi there, I am very briefly stopping over in Hong Kong arriving 22/08 (18.00) and departing 24/09 (20.20) can anyone suggest a good itinerary for that time? Interested a bit in shopping but mostly taking in the culuture/food and main sites although no museums as would rather spend time doing other things. Thanks for any suggestions!

Clarke Quay area is on the riverside- hundreds of great restuarants and great atmosphere. Night time is really festive.Take a river-cruise and see Singapore from a different perspective.
Go to Raffles Hotel- and enjoy a famous 'Singapore Sling'cocktail (HUGE fun)
Little India is also wonderfully interesting- see the mosque & temples
Chinatown for authentic chinese food & culture
Arab Street
Bugis Street markets
Botanical Gardens are beautiful -drink lots of fluids to prevent de-hydration
Take a cable-car ride over the sea to Sentosa Island- it has everything made for pleasure & enjoyment- good restuarants too.
Jurong Bird Park is worth a visit.
And shop till you drop on Orchard Street- everything from designer shops to stalls
At Changi Airport there are stands with pamphlets & info booklets (free)
Grab one & enjoy.

22/08: Evening: browse Chinatown (view Buddha Tooth Relic Temple) and tuck in at the Night Market.
23/08: Morning: Jurong Bird Park or Singapore Zoo. Late afternoon/evening: visit Colonial Singapore and see Padang, Supreme Court, Raffles Landing Site, Cavenagh Bridge, Anderson Bridge, Merlion and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay. Boat and Clark Quays are on the opposite side of the river.
24/08: Day: Little India and/or Kampong Glam (Bugis Junction, Haji Lane, Busorrah Street, Sultan Mosque) as time permits.
Enjoy!

The above suggestions are great! :)

I have another option, which I know may be touristy but I loved it - the Night Safari at the Singapore Zoo. None of my local zoos offer this so not sure if it's offered in any other countries besides Singapore (probably though). It was an amazing experience - esp seeing the bats! I highly recommend it. And don't worry if you're not 10 years old - we were one of the many adults there! :)
