Aye, as they say, CityLink, Megabus or Scotrail, all pretty much taking the same route, via Stirling, Perth and up the "A9 corridor" through the Highlands.
As I have this timetable on my desktop, here is the train times you need:
http://www.scotrail.co.uk/sites/files/Ed&Glas-InvernessMay09.pdf
You will notice the departures are from Glasgow Queen Street Station, 13.41 or 16.11. Try for the earlier one, mentioned already, to avoid commuter congestion. However, there is no need to rush from airport to Glasgow centre. You are into Inverness by 19.34 on the later train.
The important info is where the services depart Glasgow from. Queen Street Staion for trains - Buchanan Bus Station for the coaches.
The CityLink timetable below has a good service leaving at 14.40 (good because it is a "non-stop" service. If you do want to see towns and villages on route, take the slower bus!).

Here is the megabus times, too:

To get into Glasgow from the airport is easy - as you'd expect:
http://www.glasgowairport.com/ click on "To and from airport".
:)
This way you have the option to stop places en route too.
Tickets purchased online in advance are often cheaper. But also check out special "Rover tickets" or "Scotland Freedom pass" if travelling further.
Car rental opens up a whole other route option, up the West Coast for example - but we prefer public transport. :)
Journey times for driving can be calculated using the theaa.com site:
