Can anyone tell me please is the town within walking distance where the River Cruises berth?

We have an afternoon free and will moor there overnight.

Thank you.

Oh, I am delighted that you will visit this lovely town!! Yes, I can confirm that the berths for the two major boats are within walking distance from the town. They are located approx. 200 m east of the cathedral. The distance cathedral - berths is approx. the same as the distance cathedral to Altpörtel (the old town gate in the west).
Here is more information about the possible cruises (all in English):

The one "Pfälzerland" is exactly east of the cathedral and the one "Sea Life" is a bit north of this, but similar distance. The one "Germersheim" is out of town. So it is the "Pfälzerland" one you are looking for.

Enjoy the city and the cruise :-)) And don't miss to visit the Historical Museum of the Palatinate:

Thank you so much for all the information you have given to me. I am glad to hear not too much time will be taken walking to the interesting places to visit during our short stay and am looking forward to cruising the river Rhine.
Thank you again,
Joan.

Hi Joan,

I just found an exciting website about Palatinate (the part of Rheinland-Pfalz, Speyer belongs to) with hundreds of short videos. They are all in German, but you can get nice ideas of what waits for you. Here is the one about the cruise tour with "Pfälzerwald" boat:
