My wife resides in New York, is a tourist visa requirement for Australian citizens?
How much is the application fee and how many days for staying?

I assume you are talking about a visa to visit Uruguay. You should both contact your local Uruguayan embassies for official, up-to-date information, but normally irrespective of where you or your wife live, as Australian citizens you don't need a visa as long as you are going as a tourist and have a return ticket. However, if you were staying for more than 3 months you might need to check about residency requirements.

Unless you plan to go to Paraguay, where Australians do need a visa, I was hoping to visit but the visa sounds like a hassle!.
