My friend and I are going to budapest on 18 June and will be there for 4 niights arriving late Thursday afternoon. Does anyone know whether we will get a better exchange rate in the UK or locally in Budapest ? If Budapest where would you recommend ? we are staying at the Marriott and are arriving by air on Jet2.

Unless you know someone witch gives you exeptional good rates in UK, i would use the ATM in Budapest airport (there might be slighly better rates in Budapest, but you have to get there first)

well was thinking of getting some here 1st anyway to keep us going for 1st day or so , but wondered whether to get all here or most out there.

I'd suggest getting a few here first for peace of mind and so that you don't have to worry about finding an ATM at the airport for a coffee, beer, taxi, bus etc. Then use a debit card in the ATM's, I usually find you get a slightly better deal.

You must change Pounds in Budapest...one change office after Nyugati station before Margit hid is the best...next to a Playstation games shop...

Last when I was there I had exchanged Euros at the Nygati Station,and did get some good rate.You can try. Have a great time in Budapest. Jayarep.
