Rhodes (Island) Travel Forum

Could you recommend any? I mean by public transportation.

As those places are close to Rhodes City I would take the bus, get to Rhodes City and make a day trip to the neighbour island of Symi. It is absolutely beautiful. Surely more beautiful if you stay there and the daytrippers from Rhodes have left or have not arrived yet, but still a great little island to be explored. Great walking tracks and views, and the village where the ship docks is very picturesque.

I made many hiking and mountainbike trips on Rhodes but do not recall from which places exactly, as we travelled all over the island. But it would be good to check out if those activities are possible from where you stay.

if i remember rightly the only buses that pass through these two places are to lindos or rhodes town except for one early one to prasonissi ( one there and one back only) -
you will find day trips offered ( like the ones the Reps charge a fortune for) on the streets of kolymbia at least ( probably afandou also - as this is a bigger place but we haven't spent much time there)- its not as cheap as public transport but that i think is your only other option - other than going into rhodes town ( and maybe lindos will offer different places to go also - again we haven't been there so do not know) try googling rhodes bus times to see if you can work out where they go to and from -
