I would like to visit Obudai temeto off Bechi utca and Arany hegy.

On google map this looks rather outside of the city. I was wondering if you could offer some info on how easy this area is to access by public transportation or taxi? Also, how safe is it for a small group of obvious foreigners?

Bus 118 has a stop at Obudai temeto. Starting point is Arpad hid (Metro 3, Arpad hid station). Public transport is safe also for foreigners :-). More info from Public Transport in Budapest: http://www.bkv.hu/english

Absolutely safe, except for the Mocsarosdulo area east of Aranyhegyi ut, but you'd probably not want to go there anyway, since it's a plain area with a few homeless' cottages and there's nothing to see at all.

Obudai temeto on Becsi ut (not Becsi utca, that's a different street) is easy to reach:
- from Batthyany ter M2 station by bus 160 or 260, get off at Obudai temeto stop
- from Arpad hid HEV station in Buda (and NOT Arpad hid metro M3 station in Pest!!!) by buses 118 218 (the latter takes a shorter route) also to Obudai temeto

The southern part of the Aranyhegy area can be reached by bus 218 from Arpad hid HEV station. The southernmost part can be reached by bus 260, from its terminal stop at Gabor Denes Foiskola.
The eastern part of Aranyhegy is easy to access by bus 160 and it's southeastern corner also by bus 118.

Bus frequencies vary between 10-30 minutes, depending on route and the time of day.

What I am tring to find is if the altalanos iskola on Becsi ut is still there.


Also, There is/was a minurete type thing on top of Arany hegy and house on top of the hill. This was my grand fathers house and I have some pictures of it. I am trying to find out if it's still there.

Can you also guide me to where and how I can find info about the deeds, deaths birth associated with the home, family?
