Ive been to cologne before but only with my parents im here for 2-3 days, staying in the ibis in the messe area.

any good bars/food around?

Ditsch backerei usw?

Ditsch is only the bakery chain, so nothing special. Try the typical Koelsch beer breweries in the altstadt, for example Frueh, Gilden or Gaffel (all of them have websites like www.(name).de)...

Fruh Hofbrauhaus behind the cathedral will give you a good meal and the best beer in Cologne. From the Dom, walk up the main shopping street and then I think it is second left. You wil see the signs from the main street.
Although if you are in the Altstadt area you will find a good eating place every five metres.
You can then tell us all about it on your return :-)
