Madrid Parque El Capricho
Posted: Sat May 30, 2009 12:23 PM UTC
I'm here in Madrid and looking for some cheap/free entertainment for the weekend not too far from the hotel. Our Metro station (El Capricho) is close and I've found mention of this park...how close is the Park to the Metro station? Trying to save trips into the city til later evening when it's not as hot to walk about. Any other ideas?

With a bit of detective work and the help of a German tourist couple, we found the park! It's not that far from the station to the north, but it does involve some trekking through a but of scrubby trail and an apartment complex parking lot. I have to say it was worth the search and we were able to help 3 others we met looking for it on our way back! Lovely place, but not that easy to find...need a few more signs! Good luck to future tourists!

Well I'm glad you found El Capricho. As you probably know, quite close to it it's also Parque Juan Carlos I. Much bigger, close to your place, you should go there, too. It's a very big place and being in the park doesn't seem like being inside a million city.
Greetings,
Jerca
