Prague Trip to Kutná Hora or Cesky?
Posted: Sat May 30, 2009 11:59 AM UTC
Hi all!

I would be heading to Prague in late june and was intending to take a day trip outta prague. I've heard so much nice things about Kutná Hora and Cesky that i'm in 2 minds over which to go. Any one's able to give suggestions as to which is more worthwile to go? Read about the bone church in Kutná Hora but also alot of great stuff in Kutná Hora.

THanks!!!!

Well, I seem "Cesky" it means Cesky Krumlov. If You have any chance to visit both of these places, do it! If not, and You have to choose anyway wich plase to visit, go to Cesky Krumlov. It's much more interesting (imo).

Cesky is a pretty town - make sure you visit the castle. What about combining it with Hulabrook castle. Do beware of the local coach companies in Prague - we wound up in a mini bus with no seatbelts and a driver from hell!

Make sure you go to the "Cesky" something you really mean. "Cesky" means nothing else but Bohemian, and after that comes the important part of the name.

I also think you mean Cesky Krumlov - and I would also go there. It is sooo beautiful.

Did not go to Cesky Krumlov but did go to Kutna Hora and it was my favorite day of 2 weeks in Prague and Krakow. Just the smaller town was probably most of it but it was beautiful and the people there were the nicest we met on that trip.

Cesky Krumlov(Krumau in German)is more beautiful than Kutná Horá(Kuttenberg) but it's simply too far from Prague to do a day trip!

Kutna Hora is excellent for a daytrip, it's only 1 hour by train from Prague.

Cesky Sternberk is a beautiful castle in the valley of the Sázava river not too far from Prague.

You could actually try to combine the 2 in a day trip. It's certainly possible by car, but check the timetables if you go by train/bus: www.idos.cz

We took a day trip to Kutna Hora ( train) approx 1 hour from Prague. Enjoyed the town, an easy walk, nice buildings etc.
