In the three towns you mentioned there is usually adequate parking which in some cases may be free, metered or public lots. If you find free parking spots just make sure it truly is free and not in a restricted area (there are usually signs posted). If you are not going to stay for a long time in an area metered spots are the cheapest (just make sure you have some American coins), for longer visits paid public lots are usually available.
I have never visited the McDonald's Museum although from their website it looks like it could be interesting with old pictures in the basement. Enjoy your visit to Chicago and don't hesitate to ask more questions, we are a friendly bunch here in Chicagoland.
