Does anybody has experience with the Patong Merlin Hotel?

I have not stayed recently, but I used to use it on a regular basis. The rooms are reasonable standard 3-4 star type rooms. The pools are very nice, there are three in the hotel. As regards to location it is on the other side of the Beach Road in Patong. The bars of Soi Bangla are a 10 - 15 minute walk from the hotel.

We stayed at the Patong Merlin April last year. We chose it mainly because we had 3 kids and it has the most amazing pool area, with 3 very large free-form pools. We were 3 adults and 3 kids. The rooms are not large, some of them were being renovated when we were there, but the ones we were in were in very dire need of an upgrade. The rooms were quite adequate tho, and they had an in-room safe, which is great. The buffet breakfast is amazing, absolutely anything you would want to eat and as much of it as you want. If I were going to Thailand again with kids, I would definitely stay there. However if I was going there with no kids, I would look for a smaller more boutique style Hotel. The location of the Merlin was great too. It was right across from the beach, and also on the other side it was right near the Otop Markets. It is about a 10 minute walk to Bangla Road.

Hi. I stayed at Patong Merlin in August 2007. It was a very nice hotel and we were comfortable. Last year we stayed at Patong Resort.omparing both,I felt Patong Resort was better value and closer to Bangla Road and Jungceylon Shopping centre. We are staying at Patong Resort again this year.
