Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Dublin All Day Ticket
Posted: Tue May 26, 2009 06:25 PM UTC
Hello,
I will be arriving on a cruise, on August 27, at the Port. Where can I board the DART, for an all day ticket, that takes me all around the bay? I've been to Dublin several times, but not on this train tour. I understand it costs about 8 Euros/ticket. Is this correct?
Thank you for your help.

Tom,
I'm not sure exactly where you're ship will dock or whether there will be taxis waiting when you disembark. If there are just ask the driver to take you to Tara Street Station or Connolly Station, the journey should take under ten minutes depending on traffic and route taken. You should be able to buy your ticket at the station. According to the website a DART only ticket costs €7.20 or a combination bus/DART costs €8.80.
If you prefer to walk (just under a mile), head for the river Liffey and walk westwards towards the city. When you get to the first bridge with traffic, just before the Custom House, you should see an elevated railway bridge spanning the river. If you cross the traffic bridge and walk along till you are underneath the railway bridge you will be at Tara Street Station. On the other hand you could stay on the northside of the river and turn right just before the Custom House and Connolly Station will be straight ahead. Connolly is also a mainline station so using Tara Street would be more straightforward.
Hope this answer is not too complicated, if you need clarification get back to me!
