My son will visit Barcelona in October to take part in the Triathlon. He doesn't want to bring his own bike. Can anyone recommend a good bicycle shop to rent a racing bike? I found one member tip about Bike Rental Barcelona, but it seems this shop rents mostly folding bikes or mountain bikes.
Does anybody know of another place to rent a bike?

Hi Christine, you will always struggle to find a good racing bike anywhere. I have seen someone asking the same question in a Spanish forum but cannot get to the page.

Sissi, thank you very much. I'll pass the information on to my son. It may be better for him to bring his own bike, I think.I wouldn't want to go looking for a bike shortly before a race.

I would not try to hire a bike for a race - and this is not for the hurry and the stress. Bikes that are ridden by different people all the time are never as good as your own bike. Race bikes are like horses - very sensitive ;-) And the athletes are, too.

You know, it does not matter on which bike we ride around a park or a little island, as time does not play a role, and the perfect seat position. But for a race you should get the best you can get. Especially as there is another leg of the race to do, and if you are already angry about the bike race, you surely do not run well.

I absolutely agree, Sissi. Even if it's some hassle bringing the bike on a plane, he'd be better off with his own one.
I have to leave for work, now - the train leaves in 20 minutes!
