I would not recommend doing the Cliffs as a day trip from Dublin. You only have 3 days in Ireland, and going to the Cliffs means that you will spend one of them nearly entirely in a bus. Sure, the cliffs are nice, they are not THAT nice to warrant such a long trip to see them just because they're famous.
Would you not consider doing something closer to Dublin? For example, there is Newgrange, a megalithic monument near Slane in Meath, which is older than the pyramids:

Or maybe Glendalough, an ancient monastic site set in a lovely valley in Wicklow:
