Dublin Any Day Tour from Dublin to Moher cliffs on Sunday??
Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 04:57 PM UTC
Hi all,
I'll have a weekend in Dublin this summer, and besides of seeing the city's attractions I'd like to visit the famous Moher cliffs, taking a 1-Day trip which operates from Dublin.
Unfortunately I will only have 3 days and as I cannot plan something like that to the day of the flight arrival (Saturday) or the day of the flight departure (Monday), it leaves only Sunday for such an activity.
I tried to search the Internet but from what I was able to find all the companies that have such 1-day trips operate Monday-Saturday only.
Does anyone know if there is any tour company that works on Sunday as well?
Thanks a lot in advance;-)

Just check their public buses http://www.buseireann.ie/ They definitely go everyday and when we were there last year we were surprised how good the servis was. You get a timetable at the main stations, buses go every one or two hours and you can get off the bus in a town , have a look and go on by the next bus. Just find Dublin-Galway bus and then to Cliffs of Moher. Some more info also at http://www.cliffsofmoher.ie/GettingHere.aspx
Good luck, they are beatiful.

I would not recommend doing the Cliffs as a day trip from Dublin. You only have 3 days in Ireland, and going to the Cliffs means that you will spend one of them nearly entirely in a bus. Sure, the cliffs are nice, they are not THAT nice to warrant such a long trip to see them just because they're famous.

Would you not consider doing something closer to Dublin? For example, there is Newgrange, a megalithic monument near Slane in Meath, which is older than the pyramids:
http://www.meath.ie/Tourism/Heritage/HeritageSites/Newgrange/

Or maybe Glendalough, an ancient monastic site set in a lovely valley in Wicklow:

And here are links to the buses that will get you there:
