Bristol Attraction in Bristol City Centre
Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 01:17 AM UTC
I'm a Malaysian, studying in City of Bristol College. I would like to do some sightseeing or traveling during this half term break. Am curious whether any places can I do my sightseeing within walking distance from Bristol City Centre, since the only transport I have is bus. Appreciate for the help, ladies and gentlemen. Millions of thanks.

Search on the following:

Clifton Suspension Bridge

SS Great Eastern

Queen Square

Bath (an historic city about 15 minutes by train or 30 by bus from Bristol)

Bristol is a very good city to walk around. I had to visit the city many times for work and enjoyed my spare time seeing the places mentioned and many others.

This website http://visitbristol.co.uk/ will give you all the information you need.

Enjoy your sightseeing.

You can take the train to Bath, as suggested, or to many other places .....although public transport in the UK is not cheap.

www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you train times and fares

You can also take the long-distance buses (coach)for daytrips. Sometimes you can get really cheap fares (from 1GP). Check on www.nationalexpress.com

Possible daytrips include Bath, Cardiff, Gloucester and Weston-super-Mare (a typical English seaside town).

You can find ordinary bus route maps and timetables from Bristol here:

Click on 'maps/routes' on the left-hand menu.
