Hi all,

I'm coming to learn arabic in Beirut for a year. I will be undertaking an intensive one month course at LAU and then hoping to teach english for a year whilst i immerse myself in arabic.

Does anyone know any language schools who are looking for teachers.

Does anyone know any where cheap for me to stay? a room to rent or a family to stay with?

Finding a place to stay should be easy since you are taking a course in LAU because LAU should have loads of info on places to rent and they usually have adds all over Campus promoting places and rooms for rent.

You can read at the bottom of this site the prices for dorms in LAU, and you should ask again to make sure these are the final prices for 2009-2010

These are a few hostels you can check, but please CALL THEM IN PERSON, never rely on internet information because sometimes they don't update prices for a while and you might end up thinking one price and finding out it is another so call them in person before you arrive to lebanon and learn all the info and prices before hand.

There is a famous place for Foreign students who want a room to stay in and offers good prices, I am not sure it is posted online, but once you arrive to Beirut just ask for ZIKO'S HOUSE, there is where you would be able to find a good bargain.


Now about Work, that is a difficult issue, with the slow down of the World economy we have had our share like the rest of the world of hard times and a slow down in all sectors so finding a vacant job is no easy matter, you should start searching online and applying from now and hopefully you might get lucky and find the teaching job you seek.
