Hi!
since 19th to 25th july i'm doing a short trip from toumbouctou to bamako. i don't know if it would be better staying in tombouctou and surrounding area and take a flight to bamako, or travelling by land visiting the villages on the way and using public transport to get to bamako. i'd prefer this second option, but i'm not sure if i have enough time to do it. can anyone recommend anything? any other suggestion? (bamako's surroundings, etc) thanks a lot!! Natalia. |

The problem you'll have is that it will be the rainy season and I doubt you'll be able to do the part from Timbuctou to Mopti on the "pistes". From Bamako you could do side trips down to Siby or back to Segou and Djenné.
