You are all great...thanks for the great advice..how long a drive from Stratford to Heathrow? Warwick to Heathrow? London to each of them?

will give you routes, traffic blackspots, roadworks etc and estimated timings.

Allow more time than it says for traffic congestion (plenty of that even on motorways, and especially on the M25 and M6), roadworks (plenty of those too) and the fact that you will be getting used to UK driving.

Be aware that there are many, many speed cameras. Stick to the limits, or you may find yourself paying a fine a month or so down the line. You won't necessarily know you have been 'caught' on camera. There are lots of CCTV cameras too,and traffic wardens giving out parking tickets.

Driving in central London is really not a good idea at all. Avoid it if you can.
