Palestine Ideas for short West Bank trip
Posted: Tue May 19, 2009 02:14 AM UTC
Hi all!

I'll be in Israel and the West Bank for about 4 days. I will start my trip in Fureidis to visit some friends, then will go on to see Nablus, Jerusalem, Ramallah, and finally end in Bethlehem.

Does this sound too ambitious? I have no idea how long traveling by bus/crossing checkpoints will take; perhaps I should just stick with Fureidis and Jerusalem? Or if you have a suggestion of a totally different town/village/area I absolutely must see, please let me know!

Thanks~

Have no idea where Fureidis is. But I can tell you you can easily do Ramallah and Nablus in less than a day. Bethleem is very close to Jerusalem so it's pretty easy as well.
The strict closure of Nablus has just been lifted due to American pressure, meaning it's now easy to go there. The Old City is lovely and local people are extremely nice. There's an economic boom in tghe city, as many Arab Israeli have been going there to shop and spend the week-end since the closure has been lifted.
