I will arrive Antalya by cruise ship and I have about 5-6 hours in Antalya. I would like to visit Aspendos Theatre on my own by public transportation.Please advise.

Aspendos is 1,5 hours away from the Antalya port.
1,5x2=3 hours
You will have 3 hours to visit the theatre wich is quite a good time.
The problem is how you go there by public transport? From the port you must take a taxi to the main Antalya Bus terminal. There you must ask the bus offices which bus goes to Side. Side is the town half an hour away from Aspendos. If you are lucky you will have the bus. You must get out of the bus in Side. You will look a service to Aspendos. Better take a taxi. After visiting you will return to Side Main Bus terminal and look for a bus to Antalya. If you are lucky you will have one.

My advive: Take the excursion of the ship.

I was in the same situation and decided to rent a car. The ship port is W. of the city and the rental car place was at the airport, E of town. They were there waiting for me at the port and the man needed to get back to the airport so he drove the car through the city with me watching the road and making mental notes. By the time we got to the airport the ride to Aspendos (we also went to Perga and Side) was down the same road. It was very easy and we had no complications. If you're not that "adventurous" I think public transportation is too complicated since you have a limited time and on margin for error, as the above poster stated.

It seems not possible. 4-5 hours is not enought just for Antalya. Stay Antalya this time and come again for other placeses in Turkey.
