Salvador da Bahia Travel Forum

Hi, I'll be staying in Salvador da Bahia for 3 months this summer and I was wondering if there's anywhere I can get brands like L'oreal, Clinique, Dermalogica, Origins, Aveda, Bare Escentuals or organic/local brands. It would be great to not have to bring lots of stuff with me knowing i could buy stuff there. Might as well contribute to the local economy and all too.

Not being the girly-girl type, I rely on getting a tan. Makeup tend to melt off as you sweat in the heat and humidity, anyway. But you're not leaving civilization behind entirely going to Brazil. Just take yourself over to Shopping Barra or Shopping Iguatemi and you'll find what you're looking for.

Thanks for that. Ya it's not as much make-up I'd be looking for as the moisturisers and hair stuff I'd be used to using. Salvador da Bahia is actually much bigger than my own capital city so I know i won't be leaving civilisation behind, but it's great to know where to go to get stuff and obviously some brands are distributed in one country and not in another blah blah blah. I assume stuff will be cheaper there too than rip-off Ireland. thanks for all your answers.

I personally would take anything that you know you are definitely going to need with you. Alot of times name brand things are more expensive as they are imported in. If you buy a local brand it will be cheaper.
