Munich Subway stop
Posted: Fri May 15, 2009 04:23 PM UTC
Does anyone happen to know whatthe station stop is for:
Delpstrabe street, Bogenhausen

Also, any other random subway stops anyone can recommend just to explore the neighborhoods( nothing special in mind, just explore a local area)

Thanks

Either Richard Strauss or Bohmerwaldplatz on U4 line. Lehel on the same line is an interesting area just outside the center.

As you seem to be a first time visitor, I recommend you walk to the English Garden from U-Bahn stop Giselastraße, to Olympiapark including the tower (great view) and the stadium from the Games 1972 from U-Bahn stop Olympiazentrum. From the same stop - or one earlier at Petuelring - you can walk to the BMW Museum if you are interested in such things.

In another thread we had already mentioned Marienplatz which is a major U-Bahn and S-Bahn stop of many lines. This is the very heart of the city and well worth looking around. Do not miss Viktualienmarkt nearby, it is just a two or three minutes walk. Between the U/S-Bahn stops Marienplatz and Karlsplatz (Stachus) is famous Frauenkirche.

As you also want to go to Residenz, at Odeonsplatz you also find Feldherrnhalle and beautiful Theatinerkirche.

Sorry, I sent off my previous post too early, I wanted to add another one:

With tramway #17 you get directly from Hauptbahnhof to Schloss Nymphenburg (castle).

Hi, just a small hint:
the "Delpstrabe" should actually read "Delpstrasse"

The thing you mistook for a "B" is the "sz" or "sharp s", a ligature of two "s" characters, which is used in some German words (amongst others "Strasse", which means Street). If you can't write the ligature, you use two "s"es.

(see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9F )

Best,
Glissi
