it runs all day long as it's not really a real hot air balloon ride, but balloon in tied to a wrie that they lift up and down every hour roughly.
if i remember right then the price was around 100 dollars.

I took that hot air ballon and we were up for about 30 minutes, it is very nice, however it the cost was no where near $100.00, unfortunately I don't remember what the cost was but it was reasonable as we invited our guide to join us as he had never been up in it.

I don't remember exactly what the cost was, but it was nowhere near $100 ! I think it was around 15-20 USD, but as said I'm not sure anymore.
As Angkor is a world heritage site, you can not fly over the temples. Angkor balloon is a balloon that is tied up to a fixed construction on the ground. The hight it takes you up to, depends on the amount & the strenght of the winds.
It takes about 15-20 min. to get up and down and I can strongly recommend i to anyone visiting Angkor. It offers a mavellous sight over the entire area. You can see temples in the jungle that can't even be visited.
The best time to go up is at sunrise or even better at sunset. But as these times are popular, it is best to reserve up front.

Enjoy your "flight".

this must have been a while ago jessika.
i´m not sure if it was 100 dollars as i got my ride for free, but it was at least 70 dollars last november.
i remember thingking that it was about half of what i paid elsewhere and normally balloon rides goes for around 200 dollars in most countries.

Hi Claus

It was indeed a while ago : we were there in march 2005.

Maybe worth googling it before leaving, just to get an accurate idea about the price. But whatever the price is nowadays, it's a great experience !

Wow!. I`d be amazed if it cost that much even now. I know its 3 years ago but I`m sure I paid $15 dollars back then and thought it was good value. If you get a clear day theres a great view all around.
If memory serves me right it goes up 200 metres which was high enough for me as it was quite breezy and we`d been waiting for the wind to drop.
