Las Vegas Where to stay on the strip , which quality /price hotel on the strip
Posted: Thu May 14, 2009 12:16 PM UTC
Which is the cheapest possible for its value hotel on the Strip, i will go for Christmas new year, i do not wnat to be away from the whole buzz, i saw somehtels give extra admission to showas in their hotels, is it trul MGM gives free tickets to Cirque du Soleil or grand garden Arena, that Stratosphere gove also tickets and free admision to the Stratosphere tower.
may be it sounds rediculous, but i come with my teenagers to Las vegas on a budget, i would be happy if we can see and do more things for the money i spend for a christmas holiday,
What actually is gratis, and where the best to see the fireworks with teenagers/as they are not allowed to bars, night clubs on the top, etc...

Probably the cheapest is Circus Circus not the best but for value it would probably be ok for you. "Free" is not a word that is used in Las Vegas much unless you are willing to spend a lot of money to get something for "free" The word you ask about "gratis" means "free" and again you won't find much of that in Las Vegas. There is a free show at the Rio Suites that you would enjoy, and the Lasser light show downtown on Fremont St is free. As far as the fireworks are concerned you would be able to view them from the top of some of the hotels, but it would not be free for entrance.

Go to www.lasvegas.com and it has a huge list of hotels that are located on the strip. They also have details on shows, nightlife, attractions you name it they have it. I think that some hotels do promote the shows so you just have to look around and ask. Or if you look on the shows section it will tell you which hotel is hosting it.

Theres a few shopping malls also, take a look at Miracle Mile next to Planet Hollywood resort. Also if you check in at PH they will offer you discounts on the shops as well if you're going there on a budget. Also discounts on restaurants, drinks, and some free play in the casino if you're feeling lucky or just want to have some fun in there one night. So lots to see and do in Vegas for sure, message me anytime if you want to know anything else and good luck in your search.

Just got back from Las Vegas several weeks ago so here is what I can tell you. Besides Circus Circus mentioned by the other poster, if you want to stay on the Strip and more in the middle check out either Imperial Palace or a very small but nice hotel the Monte Carlo. The "free" admissions to shows you will somehow be paying for in the price of your room. It is best to check the various websites on Vegas and do lots of comparison shopping. Be sure the check out the numerous magazines and flyers when you get to Las Vegas as they do have discount coupons for food, shopping and some shows.

Here's a couple of tricks to book your hotel. If you book directly at the hotel site, most times they do not charge you right away unless it's a package deal and they might charge you for half. You can cancel your reservations like 2-3 days prior to your arrival without a penalty. I had booked reservations at Treasure Island 2 months in advance. As the date got closer, the room prices dropped and I called to get the lower price - not a problem for them. Once you are at the hotel and you plan to gamble, get one of those hotel cards and everytime you "buy-in" to bet they log it on your card or you slide your card into a machine during your play. At the end of your stay, the hotel can run your account to see how much you have gambled and you might get your stay partially or entirely free depending on how much you have gambled. It's not about how much you have lost or won - just how much you have initially played. So, let's say you enter a black jack game for $500. That's logged onto the card. You can walk away with that $500 and it appears you have played that money. Not all hotels have this and some hotels are jointly owned so you can use the card for several places.

I'm not familiar with free show tickets but there is a lot to see and do. My daughter and her friends thought one of the best attractions they saw was at the Mirage - some type of animal exhibit/show. Have a great time!

Free Rooms, meals and shows are given to those people who are BIG gamblers. These big gamblers usually deposit thousands of dollars into the Hotel's safe and withdraw these thousands a little at a time to play at the hotel's casino.

Usually, you have to be "known" by hotel management as a big-time gambler before they will "Comp" (as in compensate) your room, etc. Sometimes it only takes the big deposit into the safe to activate the hotel management's attention and because of that, they might give you "freebies" to entice you to stay at their hotel to gamble.

However, most casinos will give out free drinks to those who stay for long periods of time, in their casinos, gambling. Be sure to tip the drinks server even if the drinks are free.

There are places at the entrance or near to Las Vegas that offer information about the town. Sometimes the information given includes lower price hotel rooms and various discounted shows or "freebies" offered at that particular time. If you're on a budget these places are worth a stop, I'd say.

You should not forget to check out hotels with the good old travel agency. They sometimes have great deals with certain hotels/casinos you will not get via Wotif or any other booking site. I once got a room at the Excalibur for a fraction of the price I would have paid had I directly booked with the hotel or a booking site. Just look in some catalogues or brochures and compare the online rates.

well the best place to stay is my condo but its 2 miles west of the MGM but you get 900 s/f 2 HDTV's wire-less internet with computer 1 b/r full kitchen bath living/dining rooms 2 pools etc. and you can see the fireworks from the window facing the strip.Between Chrismas and New Years is the busiest time of the year and you are not going to get anything for free.In fact the low prices are over I read in the paper the hotels are rasing their prices because things are getting better.
