Re: Getting 2 OAP's from Heathrow to Dover Port Posted: Thu May 14, 2009 05:10 PM UTC
As noted, there are several options available.
As you are in no rush, it seems daft to me to pay out for a private transfer when the National Express coach (long-distance bus) service is perfectly safe, comfortable and reasonably-priced. It is best to book your tickets in advance online though, through www.nationalexpress.com Do allow plenty of time between expected landing time and actually getting your bags/out of the airport to the Heathrow bus/coach station. You can buy tickets when you arrive but you may not be able to get seats on the first available coach.
The coach will drop you at Dover bus station, and you can then go wherever you choose: a walk or taxi to the port, or on into town for your hotel if you decide to stay the night.
