Currency Exchange - Australian Dollars

I always take some Australian dollars when I travel overseas in case I lose my ATM card.

Where is the best place to exchange currency into Singapore dollars. I know banks can do this, but are there other money changers who give good exchange rates,WHO ARE THEY and where are they located.

I've used a money changer in Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Mike, I recall recently seeing some of the larger stores in Singapore actually accepting Ozzie currency. They publish the exchange rate at which they'll convert the Aus $ and happily accept it in lieu of Sing $.

We only used ATM and credit cards, so will not be able to advise on money changers. Pretty sure your hotel lobby will be able to advise on best options.

The shops probably won't give you a good rate Mike. There are plenty of small exchanges dotted around all over the main parts of the city so just check the rate they're offering on their display board.

yes the shops dont give a better rate.however mustafa shopping centre has a foreign exchange desk,where you could get a reasonable rate.apart from this there are many places in the city that you would catch your eye! that have foreign exchange facility.

Hi Mike,
Just to add to the other postings, I suggest you take the MRT(Metro) from Changi Airport and aim for Raffles Place station. Get out of the MRT station and get to the Arcade. At the Arcade there are numerous money changers, look at the display board(selling column) and buy Sing Dollars from the seller giving the best rate. All the rates given are not the same - be wise to shop around.
